Theme: “Social Justice, Legal Accountability, Bias, and Equity in AI and Biomedical Big Data”

Join us for a transformative, 5-day program exploring the ethical, legal, and societal dimensions of AI and Big Data in biomedicine. Hosted by the Eurolife DATAETHICS Network, this Winter School brings together students and experts from across Europe to critically engage with issues of justice, equity, and responsible innovation in digital health.

The Eurolife Network held its semi-annual meeting on 12–13 June at Leiden University Medical Center, where partners from nine European countries and Canada gathered for strategic discussions and future planning.

The event also featured a scientific mini-symposium focused on planetary health and sustainability in education and research.

Dr. Vera Kemp (LUMC) conducted a Eurolife-funded research exchange at the Medical University of Innsbruck, in the framework of the 10th call of the Eurolife PhD&Post–Doc Knnowledge Exchange and Mobility Grant.

Her visit to MUI focused on immunogenic cell death induced by oncolytic viruses and sparked a promising collaboration and knowledge exchange to advance cancer immunotherapy research within Eurolife.

Eurolife was invited by the Franco-German University (DFH) to take part in the 2025 Trifels Spring School on artificial intelligence, held in Annweiler am Trifels from March 24–28.

Representing Eurolife’s DATAETHICS initiative, Agnieszka Buelens (University Medical Center Göttigen) and Georgios Exarchakis (University of Bath) joined the event contributing to an international dialogue on the societal and regulatory challenges of emerging technologies.
